Testing The Equipment is the debut album from Lancashire born entertainer extraordinaire Edmund Davie also known as Ommm. Having previously performed in numerous improvised noise groups (including Z'ot with 19-t founder Shigeru Ikeda, aka DJ 100000000), Testing The Equipment is Davie's first foray into the world of electronic music, and sees him adopt the unusual combination of crappy 4 track recordings, broken/cheap/obsolete musical instruments & slick laptop production skills.
Omm's no-fi indie harmonies have drawn comparisons to the likes of Mouse On Mars, Dick Hyman and The Yummy Fur. the demo version of this album recieved extensive radio airplay on BBC Radio 1 from Rob Da Bank (who replaced the legendary Mr. Peel on the The John Peel Show), on Mary Ann Hobb's Breezeblock (where his track 'Emac' was nominated the Breezeblock Bomb). on BBC Radio 3's Mixing It, and numerous sessions for Resonance FM.
Testing The Equipment also features guest appearances from Miklos 'The Accountant' Kemecsi and Lazy Susan.
