Based in Osaka, Japan, the Boredoms have borrowed liberally from the US hardcore punk tradition to forge their own climatic rock music.

The band was formed in the spring of 1986 by Yamatsuka Eye (vocals), Tabata Mara (guitar), Hosoi (bass) and Taketani (drums), although the rhythm section was rapidly changed to Yoshikawa Toyohito (drums) and Hira (bass). Further line-up changes have seen Eye joined, at various times, by Yamamoto Seiichi (guitar), Yoshimi Yokota (drums), Atr (drums), Edr (drums), and God Mama (dancer). Eye and Mara recorded the Boredoms' debut set, Anal By Anal, which introduced their frenetic musical style, a hardcore assault combined with the experimental distorted song structures of the Butthole Surfers.

Onanie Bomb Meets The Sex Pistols, compiling the first two Japanese releases, introduced the world to the band's impenetrable noise and sequences of communal belching. Very Friendly are proud to present this, the first of 3 Boredoms re-issues.

Originally released in 1986, Onanie Bomb twitches and scrambles like epileptic billiard balls at the first break - Yamatsuka Eye's spastic control-free vocalizing is one of the most unwound noises to come out of a human's mouth since Yoko Ono yammered across the psyches of Beatles fans all those years ago...
