The ancient process of transmutation, art of the alchemists.

During his sessions for previous releases, Scott Gibbons felt something ‘other’ emerged in the recorded material. This dissidence was later to be developed as a new full project in it’s own right... Redwing is based on voices, and voices only, but the aim was to go beyond the natural perceptions we have of the sound sources.

The starting point was only a one hour long studio session but the alteration and processing took a year. A year of trying to isolate different elements, specific phenomena and harmonics. Then each element was treated carefully on different software, until lead was transformed into gold. The drone-soundscapes composing Redwing could be said to be a next step in the evolution of communication.
