Awesome Arts 2003

The Smarter than Smoking Cre8tive Challenge 2003 took place in 15 communities across Western Australia. In 2003 it involved over 450 children, a dozen Australian artists and one little British guy, Scanner.

Commissioned for the Awesome Festival in Perth, Western Australia, this CD is available exclusively here. A sonic journey produced with sounds from the sixteen communities of the 2003 Smarter than Smoking Cre8tive Challenge. Scanner collaged together the individual community sounds blurring geographical borders to create a unified portrait of Western Australia. A moving portrait of a country in sound with an additional nine minute remix of all the sounds in a rhythmic pool of sound.
