"Raoul Sinier (Ra) is a unique Parisian artist. He juggles illustration, animation, and music with a freewheeling talent, totally refractory to the intellectual arts world. Influenced by painting, his artwork shows a dark and twisted universe, heightened by a personal humour. Naturally the music is following the same path. His first album "Raoul Loves You" was released in 2004 on the American label Coredump Records. The result is a hybrid, a violent yet melodic record, just ?like his pictorial world. He also directed his own music video.?He started to play live, along side dDamage, Apparat, µ-Ziq, Fennesz, and Luke Vibert to name a few.
After the tragic death of Jay Jedlicka, Coredump Records' founder, Raoul Sinier returned in 2007 on the Canadian label Sublight Records with his second album "Wxfdswxc2". This record is imprinted with harsh moments yet always submerged with an exacerbated sensitivity. He was also able to offer a limited DVD with "Wxfdswxc2" containing more than an hour of video, animation, short films, live performances...
This renaissance man artist didn't stop here releasing in the same year "UltraFood", a 12" with Mad EP (cello player and electronic producer from New York) on the German label Ad Noiseam, and also a picture disc + CD "Ev.Panic Redone" on the legendary English label Planet-Mu where he's remixed by Venetian Snares, dDamage and µ-Ziq himself.
