NANCY ELIZABETH tour and sessions

Nancy Elizabeth embarks on her first full UK tour this week as she co-headlines a series of dates with Thee, Stranded Horse. She follows it with her first shows in Belgium and Italy.

The Wigan-born artist will performs an intimate set, taking her 22-string Celtic harp and acoustic guitar on her travels. The Manchester show will feature a full five-piece band – her first show with this line-up. Nancy has been playing live for six years, and made appearances at the Green Man and End Of The Road festivals earlier this year.

Nancy’s debut album, Battle and Victory, was released on October 1 and has been picking up some great reviews. You can hear the first two singles from the album, ‘I Used To Try’ and ‘Hey Son’ on Nancy's MySpace page. Nancy’s music has already been supported by BBC Radios 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 Music, as well as Xfm.

She has two new sessions lined up in the coming weeks: Bob Harris’s Radio 2 show on Nov 17 (with Steve Lamacq in for Bob) and Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 Music show on Nov 6. Both will be live to air, and you will be able to hear them online at the BBC website for a week afterwards.

Nancy was “new band of the day” on the Guardian website yesterday. She has also contributed a new recording of ‘Cornfield’ to Migrating Bird, a collection of musical tributes to Lal Waterson released by Honest Jon’s Records, alongside artists such as James Yorkston, King Creosote and Vashti Bunyan.
