A new way of making albums: ALBUM APPLICATIONS
Introducing three album apps - Symptoms: Violence, Joy, and Discipline, from Klaus Ammitzbøll of Symptoms, with two previous album releases on Swim ~
The CD has always been too small for images. People have had to resort to thick booklets or fold-outs that could hardly fit into the case to have some kind of artwork that would make an impression. Having toyed with the idea of creating an application, a program, that would play his music while showing images, video or text, for some time, Klaus Ammitzbøll has decided to release his three new albums in this form.
With these application albums, the large image is here, again. The possibilities are almost limitless, with the drawback of being chained to the computer. But since things are going that way anyway, it's time to raise the curtain on these apps. As an experiment, they are distributed for free under the Creative Commons license.
Violence is the pretty one, cold and burning.
Joy is the nihilist one, and carries a frustrated message of joy.
Discipline is a nature album, it brings dust, grit, earth and dirt together in dance.
