VOLCANO! scoop second place in Drowned In Sound album poll!

volcano!'s debut, Beautiful Seizure , which was released in February this year, climbed to number 2 in the reader voted Album of the Year poll on Drowned In Sound . Coming in behind Joanna Newsom's Ys album, the Chicago trio beat off stiff opposition from TV On The Radio, Broken Social Scene, Muse and the Guillemots to name a few.

VOLCANO! a cappella a Paris

Well sort of. volcano! proved their true worth as a rock band with two impromptu performances in Paris during their European tour this summer.

Captured on video and posted on the excellent La Blogothèque website, The Leaf Label have only just unearthed this extraordinary rendition of 'La Lluvia' (from the album Beautiful Seizure ), and felt they needed to share it with you.

VOLCANO! news

volcano!'s debut album, Beautiful Seizure, will finally be in UK shops in next week (March 20). Following three shows at SXSW later this week, the group embark on an East Coast US tour in April, and are currently planning a UK (and hopefully mainland Europe) tour for May. Leaf will release a limited edition 7" single featuring a newly recorded Otis Redding cover version around the time of the UK tour.

The Leaf Label's newest signings, Chicago rock trio volcano!, will be
playing shows across the western part of the States, starting at the end of
this month. You can find the dates here - please note that there are still a few to be confirmed.
